To Qualify for Every Door Direct Mail® (EDDM)

 

All EDDM mail pieces must display the entire mailing label within the top half of the mail piece. Label orientation—whether placed on the long or short side—does not matter, as long as labels placed parallel to the shortest edge are not upside down. The shortest edge is always considered the top, and the longest edge is considered the length.

 

 

Mail Piece Requirements (Flats)

 

• Must be rectangular with four square corners, or finished corners with a radius no greater than 0.125 inches

  (Note: A square qualifies as a rectangle.)

• Must exceed at least one of the following minimum dimensions:

   

  • More than 10.5 inches in length, or

  • More than 6.125 inches in height, or

  • More than 0.25 inches thick

• Must not exceed the following maximum dimensions:

   

  • 15 inches in length

  • 12 inches in height

  • 0.75 inches thick

  Note: To qualify as a flat, the mail piece may exceed only one minimum dimension while staying within all maximum dimensions. Otherwise, it is classified as a parcel.

• Minimum thickness: 0.007 inches (approximately three sheets of paper)

• Minimum height: 3.5 inches

• Maximum weight:

   

  • 3.3 oz when submitted
